Whether your personal record (PR) breaks the world record, or it’s a first record of many; the feeling when you get to hit that bell, or see your name on that board is BIG. What an accomplishment. The training paid off, you deserve something cold to drink!

Before you grab that other “cold one,” we recommend a Post-Race recovery drink.

We are all familiar with the usual post-race recovery drinks— they tend to be brighter in color, full of sugar and not that great for the digestive system. Traditional recovery drinks have electrolytes, but guess what, so does Ensign Beverage Kombucha, the standard in the beverage industry.

What is Kombucha?

Kom-boo-cha is a probiotic fermented tea that is naturally carbonated and slightly fizzy. It contains good bacteria like what you would find in yogurt, due to how it ferments with a SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast). This good bacteria is said to improve gut health.

So how will this help me after the race?

We’re guessing you will sweat while running 13.1 miles. Sweating depletes the body of more than water and you need more than water to replace the good bits that you lost in that sweat. Kombucha can be used as a low-sugar recovery drink, full of electrolytes.

But it’s more than electrolytes! Ensign Kombucha contains antioxidants, probiotic and enzymes key in flushing out the toxins for a faster recovery and aiding in joint support.

Ensign Kombucha Contains:

  • Probiotics
  • Polyphenols
  • B-Vitamins
  • Vitamin C
  • Organic Enzymes
  • Vital Amino Acids
  • Organic Acids

Plus, it’s good for you:

When you’re sitting down after the race (hopefully after some stretching), replace the good bits you exerted during your run with a drink that’s good for you. It is key to a comfortable and quicker recovery. Ensign Kombucha is low-sugar; 1.9g per 10 ounce serving It’s also gluten-free, vegan and raw.

There aren’t any additives, artificial ingredients, or sugary juices in our recipes. We keep it simple: water, cane sugar, organic tea and the mother AKA the SCOBY. Our only exception is our Hopped Up Green, great as a gluten-free option for beer lovers who aren’t seeking a buzz; we add fresh-grown, Nebraska hops to each batch!
