The 2024 Early Bird 10 Mile Run presented by Nebraska Medicine is in the books. Congrats to all finishers, you earned your worm! We’re thrilled to say that this year’s race exceeded all expectations, despite the challenge of stronger winds, capturing the essence of springtime renewal and fresh beginnings, and celebrated with friends, donuts, cinnamon rolls, coffee, mimosas and medals!

It was the runners themselves who truly shone, arriving in waves to conquer the picturesque 10-mile route. And they didn’t disappoint, delivering remarkable performances and even rewriting the record books.

A special congratulations is in order for Adam Moore from Wichita, Kansas, who blazed across the finish line as the fastest male, setting a new course record with an incredible time of 50:06.2. And Kiran Cordes from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, dominated the female category, securing the 3rd fastest female time ever on the course, and earning a back-to-back Pink Gorilla Events pink jersey after winning the Leprechaun Chase 10K in March.

This year saw a slight route adjustment due to 168th Street widening. Special thanks to the City of Omaha Public Works, Parks and Rec, and Police for supporting a major arterial street closure for this year’s course. We anticipate the route being able to underpass 168th Street again in 2025.

None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our volunteers and sponsors. A heartfelt thank you goes to Nebraska Medicine, our presenting sponsor, whose commitment to the Nebraska running community is unparalleled. And let’s not forget our other sponsors, including Early Bird Restaurant and Archetype Coffee, who helped make the post-race festivities truly memorable.

For those who want to relive the magic of race day, be sure to check out our post-race content, featuring recap photos, videos, and more.

To all the athletes who crossed the starting line and earned their glory, congratulations! And if you missed out this year, fear not – we’ll be back next spring, bigger and better than ever. So mark your calendars and prepare to soar at the April 5, 2025 Early Bird 10 Mile Run! Registration is now open for the June 8th Cornfield Cornfield 10K in Papillion and the October 27th Good Life Halfsy half marathon in Lincoln. Hope to see you there!
