Interview with Jacob Henderson
If there’s something happening behind the scenes at Pink Gorilla Events, there’s a good chance Jacob Henderson has a hand in it! As our resident Swiss Army knife, Jacob is always ready to jump in wherever he’s needed, whether that means keeping things moving in the warehouse, coordinating event operations from his computer, or tackling one of the countless tasks that help bring race day to life. A runner himself, Jacob’s passion for the sport is what brought him to Pink Gorilla Events, and that same passion fuels his drive to create memorable race experiences for every participant who crosses our finish lines. We’re excited to introduce you to Jacob and give you a peek at the guy who truly does a little bit of everything around here!
What’s keeping me excited at Pink Gorilla Events?
I’m really looking forward to our fall events! We have some fun new things rolling out, like the new BRIN medals and Big Halfsy Energy Packs. One of my favorite parts of what we do is seeing runners’ reactions to those extra touches they weren’t expecting. It’s always exciting to see the little surprises that make race day even more memorable!
Quote of the week:
“Consistency is what transforms average into excellence.”

What am I up to health-wise?
At the beginning of August, my wife and I tackled our first 14er in Colorado; we did Mt. Bierstadt! (see top image) Right now I am working on cutting down my 5K time, and getting into good shape so I can shoot for a marathon personal best in early 2027!
What is something funny that has happened to you or you have seen at an event?
I was running a big city marathon a few years ago, and about 100 people ahead of me went the wrong way. I noticed a police officer pointing a different direction, so I took that turn and all a sudden I was technically winning the race! Stay alert out there!

What am I reading?
How Bad Do You Want It, by Matt Fitzgerald
What am I listening to?
I’ve been in the Nirvana deep cuts recently!
What i’m into lately?
I am really enjoying being a dad! My little girl is almost 6 months old, and I am taking in every little moment that I can with her along the way
